I would like to take this time to thank you on behalf of the faculty, staff, student body, and parents for your attendance and support of the talent show held on 12/04/09 at Parkway Middle School of the Arts. It was a great opportunity to have you participate and witness Parkways talented students and the contest participates. Also, I am proud that Ms. Veasy provided Parkway the opportunity to support and participate in her project; Ms. Veasy clearly demonstrated that Hip Hop
can be conducted in a family oriented format, where the music, lyrics, and performances were positive and respectful. Because of Ms. Veasy efforts many of the students attended a positive Hip Hop talent show. Thanks again.

It is rewarding to see an organization such as SSB Invest In The Arts Inc. to promote “Hip Hop” on an encouraging level, giving the past history of how the music was portrayed with a negative tone, causing crime and violence to escalate among our youth.
Please have an enjoyable evening and I wish the best to you as you enter the New Year.
Sincerely,
Hayward J. Benson, Jr., Ed.D.
Vice Mayor, City Of Lauderhill
